RESOLUTION NO. 197-2002
RESOLUTION CREATING THE POSITION OF LEGISLATIVE AID
TO THE TOWN BOARD AND SUPERVISOR
The following Resolution was introduced by Mr. Colsey and seconded by
Mr. Bettina
WHEREAS, the Town Board wishes to create the new position of Legislative Aid to the
Town Board and the Town Supervisor; and
WHEREAS, the position will pay a salary of Grade 4, Step 1 with pay at $21,650 per
year; and
WHEREAS, the duties of the Legislative Aid will include the following:
• Assist Town Board Members in constituent services;
• Coordinate and mail legislative correspondence;
• Schedule legislative calendar;
• Research legislative issues for Supervisor and Town Board Members;
• Assist in preparation of legislative programs; and
• Assist in coordination and preparation of legislative resolutions and distribution
of same.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows:
1. The recitations above set forth are incorporated in this Resolution as if fully set
forth and adopted herein.
2. The Town Board hereby creates the position of Legislative Aid to the Town
Board and the Supervisor which will pay a salary of Grade 4, Step 1, with pay at
$21,650 per year with job duties that include:

• Assist Town Board Members in constituent services;
• Coordinate and mail legislative correspondence;
• Schedule legislative calendar;
• Research legislative issues for Supervisor and Town Board Members;
• Assist in preparation of legislative programs; and
• Assist in coordination and preparation of legislative resolutions and
distribution of same.
3. The sum of $12,000 shall be transferred from the "A" Fund Balance to Line Item
1220.10 A to fund this position for the remainder of calendar year 2002.
4. The Town Board of the Town of Wappinger is hereby authorized and directed to
interview and hire the qualified person for this position, consistent with the
Dutchess County Civil Services Guidelines.
The foregoing was put to a vote which resulted as follows:
