RESOLUTION NO. 2002-202
RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE TOWN CAR DRIVING EMPLOYEES
TO ATTEND DEFENSIVE DRIVING COURSE
The following Resolution was introduced by Mr.yaldati and seconded by
Mr. Bettina
WHEREAS, the Town requires that all Town employees who are authorized to drive
Town owned cars to attend a driving defensive course once every three years; and
WHEREAS, all said employees' current certification expires on September 24, 2002.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows:
1. The recitations above set forth are incorporated in this Resolution as if fully set
forth and adopted herein.
2. The Town Board hereby authorizes all Town employees who are authorized to
drive Town owned cars to attend a driving defensive course at Brown's Auto
Driving School with an office at 1574 Route 9, Wappingers Falls, New York at a
cost of Thirty Eight Dollars ($38.00) per person in accordance with the letter
dated June 10, 2002 and Course Dates from Brown's Auto Driving School to
Graham Foster.
The foregoing was put to a vote which resulted as follows:

SUBJECT: DEFENSIVE DRIVING COURSE
Every three years we send everyone who drives town vehicles to a defensive driving
course at Brown's. The current certifications expire on September 24, 2002.
I believe the town receives a reduction on our insurance under this program.
If you want to continue this practice, we should form a list of all departments. Previously
we have had the employees attend the course during working hours.

Course you took for an insurance reduction will expire soon.*
We hold these courses weekly at our new training facility.
You will now receive a 10% discount on collision and
liability, and a reduction of "4" points if you have any on
your license prior to course completion. You may take this
course again in eighteen (18) months if you have received
Points after taking the course. This course is only for point
reduction, not for additional insurance reduction in an
eiahteen-month period.
