2017-58 2017-58 Resolution Appointing Town Comptroller At a Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on January 9, 2017. The meeting was called to order by Lori A. WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger has by resolution created the office of Town Comptroller of the Town of Wappinger pursuant to authority granted by Town Law §20(b)(3); and WHEREAS, such position will be funded under budget line item ; and WHEREAS, the Town Board desires to fill the position of Comptroller of the Town of Wappinger; and WHEREAS, the Town Board is satisfied that Fredrick Awino is qualified for the position of Comptroller of the Town of Wappinger. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Board appoints Fredrick Awino to the position of Comptroller of the Town of Wappinger at the pay rate of$76,000 per year; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Mr. Awino shall hold office until January 1, 2018 in accordance with Town Law §20(b)(3); and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Mr. Awino shall be permitted to retreat to his competitive civil service position of Accountant in the event that the position of Town Comptroller is eliminated by action of the Town Board; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Mr. Awino's employment shall be subject to all policies, terms and conditions set forth in the Town of Wappinger Employee Handbook; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Town Supervisor, or her designee, is authorized to complete and file with the Dutchess County Department of Human Resources all paperwork required by that office in connection with this appointment.
