2017-69 2017-69 Resolution Rescinding Prior Motion Approved by the Town Board At a Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on February 13, 2017. The meeting was called to order by Lori A. WHEREAS, on February 21, 1963, a motion was carried by the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger approving creation of the office of Deputy Highway Superintendent, and a copy of such motion is attached; and WHEREAS, in December 2016, the Dutchess Department of Human Resources ("Department of HR"), the local Civil Service Commission pursuant to New York Civil Service Law, advised the Town that the office of Deputy Highway Superintendent in fact did not exist because the Town had never filed with the Department of HR, or its predecessor, the paperwork necessary to formally create such office; and WHEREFORE, for the sake of administrative consistency with the records of the Department of HR, the Town Board desires to rescind the motion of February 21, 1963 creating the office of Deputy Highway Superintendent. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Town Board rescinds the motion of February 21, 1963 creating the office of Deputy Highway Superintendent; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Town Board is undertaking this action solely for the sake of administrative consistency with the records maintained by the Dutchess County Department of Human Resources; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Town Board does not hereby acknowledge or maintain that the office of Deputy Highway Superintendent was ever formally created in the manner required by New York Civil Service Law and Regulations.
