Proclamation: Sparrow's Nest Day
At a Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New York, held
at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on February 27, 2017.
The meeting was called to order by Lori A. Jiava, Town Supervisor, and upon roll being called, the
following was recorded:

The following Resolution was introduced by Councilman Kuzmicz and seconded by Councilman
Ciccarelli.
WHEREAS, Sparrow's Nest of the Hudson Valley was founded in 2012 and prides itself on being a
grassroots organization with the simple idea of cooking for the families of local moms diagnosed with cancer;
and
WHEREAS, Sparrow's Nest uses all of its donations to service local residents in the Hudson Valley;
and
WHEREAS, Sparrow's Nest cooks and delivers two trays of homemade food each week to the families
of caregivers diagnosed with any cancer that requires chemo therapy, radiation of surgery who reside within a
20 mile radius of the Sparrow's Nest Kitchen in Hopewell Junction, New York; and
WHEREAS, Sparrow's Nest also assists recipients with food and additional support throughout the year
by providing back-to-school supplies, Easter baskets, holiday gifts, etc.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger does hereby
recognize and proclaim March 17, 2017 as "Sparrow's Nest Day" and encourages all residents in the Town of
Wappinger to recognize and support the Sparrow's Nest of the Hudson Valley.
The foregoing was put to a vote which resulted as follows:
