2016-140 2016-140 Resolution Creating Position Of Equal Employment Officer At a Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on April 25, 2016. The meeting was called to order by Lori A. WHEREAS, the Town of Wappinger is required to abide by certain Federal, State and County laws and regulations regarding Equal Employment Opportunities; and WHEREAS, the Town of Wappinger has previously adopted an Equal Employment Policy for the Town of Wappinger; and WHEREAS, the Town Board has determined that it is in the best interest of the Town of Wappinger to create the position of Equal Employment Officer to administer the Equal Employment policies and procedures of the Town; and WHEREAS, in order to fund the new position of Equal Employment Officer, it will be necessary for a new budget line to be created and funds to be transferred into the new budget line to fund the stipend associated with the creation of the new position of Equal Employment Officer. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows: 1. The recitations above set forth are incorporated in this Resolution as if fully set forth and adopted herein. 2. The Town of Wappinger hereby creates the position of Equal Employment Officer as an appointed Town Officer who shall serve at the pleasure of the Town Board pursuant to Town Law § 24. 3. The Equal Employment Officer shall administer the Town's equal employment policies and practices that have been adopted by the Town Board and make such recommendations to the Town Board as necessary. 4. The Equal Employment Officer shall take such training as the Town Board shall direct. 5. The Equal Opportunity Officer shall be paid an annual stipend of$3,000.00 which is payable in equal installments over regular pay periods. Such compensation shall be in addition to any compensation paid for serving in another position in the Town. 6. Appropriation for the salary of the Equal Employment Officer shall be made from the creation of a new budget line A1220.105 Equal Opportunity Officer. 7. The Town Board hereby authorizes the transfer of funds in the amount of $3,000.00 from Town Board Contingency A1010.405 budget line to the new budget line Equal Employment Officer A1220.105. 8. The Town Board hereby appoints Beatrice Ogunti to serve as Equal Employment Officer for the Town of Wappinger, effective April 11, 2016. 9. The compensation of Beatrice Ogunti for fiscal year 2016 shall be prorated for the period April 11, 2016 to December 31, 2016. 10. The Supervisor is hereby directed to file any and all necessary documentation with Dutchess County, New York State of the Federal Government to effectuate the creation of the position and the appointment of Beatrice Ogunti.
