2016-161 2016-161 Appointing Members To the Board of Assessment Review At a Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on May 9, 2016. The meeting was called to order by Lori A. WHEREAS, pursuant to NY Real Property Tax Law §523 the Town of Wappinger maintains a Board of Assessment Review having five members to review grievances of tax assessments in the Town; and WHEREAS, members of the Board of Assessment Review serve rotating five year terms which begin of October 1 and expire 5 years later on September 30; and WHEREAS, there exists a vacancy in the term commencing on October 1, 2014 which expires on September 30, 2019; and WHEREAS, there also exists a vacancy in the term commencing on October 1, 2015 which expires on September 30, 2020; and WHEREAS, Tom Bridgman and Bruce Flowers have knowledge of property values in the Town of Wappinger and meet the other qualifications for serving as a member of the BAR; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: 1. The recitations above set forth are incorporated in this Resolution as if fully set forth and adopted herein. 2. Tom Bridgman of Myers Corners Road is appointed to fill the term commencing on October 1, 2014 which expires on September 30, 2019. 3. Bruce Flowers of Stenger Court is appointed to fill the term commencing on October 1, 2015 which expires on September 30, 2020. 4. The newly appointed BAR members are directed to take their oath of office and file the same with the Town Clerk as required by Town Law §25. 5. The newly appointed BAR members are also directed to undergo the necessary training pursuant to Real Property Tax Law § 523 and to file all necessary disclosure forms in accordance with Real Property Tax Law § 523. Pursuant to NY Real Property Tax Law §523(1)(f), within twenty days hereof the Town Clerk or his designee shall notify the Dutchess County Director of Real Property Tax Services of these appointments.
