RE: Policy change in office hours, 9 A.M. to 4:30 P.M., week
days which was instituted 1/1/79
Dear Elaine:
From reports of all offices, the remaining open of offices to
4:30 P.M., during the trial period of January, February and
March has resulted in apparently no value to the general public.
I would recommend for the Board's consideration, effective May 1, 1979,
that town office hours be tested for the hours as follows - 8:30 A.M.
to 4:00 P.M. in place of 9:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.
These hours appear to be more more useful and convenient for the
general public.

We, the undersigned,employees of the Town of Wappinger hereby
petition the Town Board to change our hours from the present
schedule of 9:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. to the following:
8:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.
We find the present hours very inconvenient due to increase
in traffic and crowded shopping conditions. Some of us have
our own individual problems which earlier hours would help
alleviate.
We would appreciate your serious consideration of this matter.
