Hamlet Court PAGGI & MARTIN Consuhing Engineers & Land Surveyors 54-56 Main Street Poughkeepsie, New York 12601 914-471-7898 July 12 , 1989 JUL Town Board Town of Wappinger 6LAINE H. Box 324 TOwn clerk 20 Middlebush Road Wappingers Falls , New York 12590 Reference : Hamlet Court Dear Board Members : As you recall from the workshop of June 15 , 1989 various items of work to be performed on the above street and subdivision were discussed. I met with Ken Croshier on July 12 , 1989 to discuss this . our findings are as follows : 1 . The recreation commission has mowed the center island and it appears to be in a rather neat manner at this point in time. It would be my recommendation that the recreation commission keep this mowed which eventually will give the area a lawn like appearance . If next year grading and/or seeding works needs to be done the Town Highway Superintendent indicated that he would place it in his budget. He also wanted me to indicate that any grading or seeding work in this area could not be done this year due to the lack of funds in his tu d-,e t. 2 . We would fully recommend no parking and one way signs for these streets and further recommend the appropriate be local law be drawn up and the public hearing be scheduled. 3 . The sharp curve on the extreme southerly side of the circle will be paved by the Highway Department. The work has been layed out by myself and Mr. Croshier in the field and will be paved and recurbed by Labor Day of this year. Joseph E.Paggi,jr.,RE, Ernst Martin,Jr., P.E., L-S. We field inspected the sewer easements behind number 17 to 26 and agree that the slope is not in a stable condition. It was agreed by Mr. Croshier that as he obtains fill from the various projects he is doing around Town he will dump it along this slope thereby decreasing the pitch on the slope . As he deposits the fill there , he will grade it off in a neat and orderly manner. I pointed out at the meeting and would like to reiterate at this point in time that the Highway Department will not seed this , however, if the homeowners wish to do that, they may. This work can not be scheduled to a definite time period and will be at the mercy of the availability of fill to the Highway Department. However, as this fill becomes available it will be deposited on the site. Tf I can be of further assistance in this matter, please do, not hesitate to contact me . Very truly yours , 31 Itseph E . Their. concerns had to do with the ability to utilize that portion of property and the protection of the existing sanitary sewer line that traverses it. As you recall at that time, it was stated that further discussions will be had once the Town accepts the roads and utilities and that at that point in time, the Town could legally come in and take whatever precautions would be necessary to protect the sanitary sewer easement if they so desired. For the record, I received a call from Ms . Lynn Murray of 17 HamL court ull m&y i , 1989 as1r,"ing tli-le status of that _L proposed work. It would be our opinion that this work should be done and I would like the Board' s opinion as to what manner we should go about it. Please contact this office to discuss this matter further . TO: Supervisor and Members of the Town Board ECEIVED FROM: Thomas F. Wood Attorney to the Town OCT 31 1988 RE: Hamlet Road Town r1ort, DATE: October 28, 1988 Following your Workshop meeting of September 29, 1988, 1 checked the official records of the Town and find that we needed new original updated Deeds from the developer in order to be able to accept both Hamlet Court and the Conservation land. I have received the new updated Deeds, have reviewed them and find them to be in proper form, and forward them with a copy of this memorandum to the Town Clerk. Also several months ago, I wrote to both the Town Engineer and the Highway Superintendent requesting their recommendations with respect to the status of the roadway. The Town Engineer has responded both in writing and also at your Workshop Meeting. The Highway Superintendent has not yet made a recommendation. Therefore, by copy of this memo to the Highway Department, I am asking that the Deputy Highway Superintendent gr the Superintendent himself make a recommendation to the Town Board. Therefore, it is my recommendation at your next Board meeting that you consider the acceptance of both Hamlet Court and the property for the Conservation Advisory District for acceptance by the Town. if you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
