Resolution Authorizing The Renaming Of "Recreation Drive" To "Ralph Holt Way"
At a Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New York, held
at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on April 23, 2018.
The meeting was called to order by Richard Thurston, Town Supervisor, and upon roll being called, the

WHEREAS, Ralph Holt has exhibited historically unprecedented involvement within Town of Wappinger Little
League programs extending over a period of more than fifty years; and
WHEREAS, Ralph Holt coached Town of Wappinger Little League for more than twenty-five years; and
WHEREAS, in 1970, Ralph Holt led the Town of Wappinger to win the New York State Little League
Championship; and
WHEREAS, Ralph Holt was inducted into the Dutchess County Sports Hall of Fame, and continues to serve as a
Trustee Emeritus on the Board of Directors; and
WHEREAS, Ralph Holt has served as Chairman of the Town of Wappinger Recreation Committee for over thirty
years, providing invaluable leadership, guidance, and perspective; and
WHEREAS, previously on June 25, 2007, the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger adopted Resolution 2007-
127, naming the main road inside the Robinson Lane Recreation Park, which begins at intersection with Robinson Lane
and terminates within the park, as Recreation Drive; and
WHEREAS, as a testament to the significant and valuable contributions provided to this town's recreation
programs by Ralph Holt, the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger determines that it is fitting and appropriate to
rename the roadway currently known as Recreation Drive to Ralph Holt Way.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows:
1. The Town Board hereby renames the road currently known as Recreation Drive to
Ralph Holt Way.
2. Highway Superintendent, Vincent F. Bettina, is hereby directed to place road signs at the
appropriate location on Ralph Holt Way in accordance with the NYS Manual of Uniform Traffic Control
Devices.
3. The Town Clerk is hereby directed to notify the Dutchess County 911 Addressing
Division of said road name change.
The foregoing was put to a vote which resulted as follows:
