2018-1232018-123 Resolution Appointing Deputy Building Inspector At a Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on May 14, 2018. WHEREAS, the Town of Wappinger has a need for a Deputy Building Inspector to assist in the enforcement of the New York State Uniform Code; and WHEREAS, the Dutchess County Department of Human Resources has established Job Class Specifications for the Civil Service Position of Deputy Building Inspector which are annexed hereto; and WHEREAS, the Dutchess County Department of Human Resources has given a competitive examination and created and certified to the Town of Wappinger a current list of eligibles for the Title of Deputy Building Inspector, and WHEREAS, the Town Board has canvassed the certified eligible list for Deputy Building Inspector and has determined that Anthony Steene appears on said list and is reachable; and WHEREAS, the Town Board has determined that Anthony Steene meets the qualifications set forth in the annexed job specification; and WHEREAS, the position of Deputy Building Inspector is funded in the Fiscal Year 2018 Town Budget; and WHEREAS, the position of a Deputy Building Inspector is subject to the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Town of Wappinger and Teamsters Local 445 ("CBA"); and WHEREAS, the Town of Wappinger requires the services of a Deputy Building Inspector who is certified as a New York State Code Enforcement Officer to conduct the business of the Building Department; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows: 1. The recitations above set forth are incorporated in this Resolution as if fully set forth and adopted herein. 2. Anthony Steene is hereby appointed to the permanent full-time civil service job title Deputy Building Inspector for the Town of Wappinger, effective May 15, 2018. 3. Anthony Steene is hereby appointed as a Code Enforcement Officer of the Town of Wappinger in accordance with the provisions of §85-3 of the Town of Wappinger Code. 4. Anthony Steene shall be compensated at the hourly rate of $17.50 which shall be paid in weekly installments, in accordance with the CBA. 5. The appointment is subject to the approval of the Dutchess County Department of Human Resources and is further subject to Civil Service Law and the Rules of New York State and the Dutchess County Department of Human Resources. 6. The appointment of Anthony Steene is subject to his successful Certification as a New York State Code Enforcement Official pursuant to 19 NYCRR Part 1208 within eighteen months of his date of appointment. The appointment is subject to a probationary term of not less than eight nor more than twenty-six weeks in accordance with the rules of the Dutchess County Department of Human Resources.
