Resolution Proclaiming School Choice Week
At a Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New York, held
at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on December 10, 2018.
The meeting was called to order by Richard Thurston, Town Supervisor, and upon roll being called, the

WHEREAS all children in the Town of Wappinger should have access to the highest -quality education possible;
and,
WHEREAS Wappinger recognizes the important role that an effective education plays in preparing all students in
the Town of Wappinger to be successful adults; and,
WHEREAS quality education is critically important to the economic vitality of Town of Wappinger; and,
WHEREAS Town of Wappinger is home to a multitude of high-quality public and nonpublic schools from which
parents can choose for their children, in addition to families who educate their children in the home; and
WHEREAS, educational variety not only helps to diversify our economy, but also enhances the vibrancy of our
community; and,
WHEREAS Town of Wappinger has many high-quality teaching professionals in all types of school settings who
are committed to educating our children; and,
WHEREAS, School Choice Week is celebrated across the country by millions of students, parents, educators,
schools and organizations to raise awareness of the need for effective educational options;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger does hereby recognize January 20-26, 2019 as
Wappinger School Choice Week, and we call this observance to the attention of all of our citizens.
The foregoing was put to a vote which resulted as follows:
