2019-152 2019-152 Resolution Authorizing Contract For Installation Of Sleeves Under Myers Corners Road For Water And Sewer Mains At a Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on July 8, 2019. Beale Voter      Defeated Angela Bettina Voter     Tabled  Christopher Phillips Seconder     Withdrawn  Michael Kuzmicz Mover     The following Resolution was introduced by Councilman Kuzmicz and seconded by Councilman Phillips. WHEREAS, Dutchess County Department of Public Works “DCDPW” is performing a highway rehabilitation project on Myers Corners Road in the Town of Wappinger; and WHEREAS, there are certain properties along Myers Corners Road that do not have water and/or sewer service; and WHEREAS, water and sewer mains can be run under a highway using sleeves if certain design criteria are met; and WHEREAS, the Engineer to the Town created a conceptual layout that would connect the unserved properties along Myers Corners Road to municipal water and sewer service; and WHEREAS, DCDPW contracted with A. Colarusso & Son Inc. to do the construction work on Myers Corners Road; and WHEREAS, A. Colarusso & Son Inc. provided a cost estimate dated June 24, 2019 for installing four (4) steel sleeves to carry water and sewer mains beneath the roadway; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that: 1. The Town Board, on behalf of the United Wappinger Water District, hereby accepts the proposal of A. Colarusso & Son Inc. dated June 24, 2019 for installing four steel sleeves at the lump sum price of $89,500. 2. The work is pursuant to a competitively bid contract issued by Dutchess County Pursuant to General Municipal Law §103, so the Town does not have to conduct its own competitive bidding process. 3. The Town Board hereby authorizes the Supervisor to sign the work proposal; and the funds for the work shall be paid from the unallocated, unappropriated fund balance of the United Wappinger Water District.
