2019-43 2019-43 Resolution Adopting Town Of Wappinger Volunteer Policy At a Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on February 11, 2019. The meeting was called to order by Richard Thurston, Town Supervisor, and upon roll being called, the following was recorded:  Vote Record - Resolution RES-2019-43 Yes/Aye No/Nay Abstain Absent Adopted  Richard Thurston Voter      Adopted as Amended William H. Beale Mover     Defeated  Angela Bettina Voter     Tabled  Christopher Phillips Voter      Withdrawn Michael Kuzmicz Seconder     The following Resolution was introduced by Councilman Beale and seconded by Councilman Kuzmicz. WHEREAS, motivated citizens, students, and senior citizens, who wish to volunteer for service with the Town of Wappinger are vital assets for the Town and volunteerism should be promoted to foster a spirit of community within the Town; and WHEREAS, it is important for the Town to adopt a written policy with standards and procedures to assure suitable support, training, supervision and safety of the volunteers; and WHEREAS, a formal policy will help Town officers recruit and identify appropriate volunteers and match them to appropriate areas of need within the Town; and WHEREAS, it is the intent of the Town Board to establish a Volunteer Policy in the form annexed hereto NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that: 1. The Town Board hereby adopts the TOWN OF WAPPINGER VOLUNTEER POLICY dated January 28, 2019 which is annexed hereto and shall be made a part of the minutes of this Meeting. 2. The Town Clerk is directed to file a certified copy of this resolution together with the annexed Employee Identification Policy in the Records of the Town. 3. Every employee of the Town shall be provided with a copy of the Employee Identification Policy and they shall sign a form that they have received and reviewed a copy of said policy. The TOWN OF WAPPINGER VOLUNTEER POLICY shall take effect immediately. The foregoing was put to a vote which resulted as follows: RESULT: ADOPTED \[UNANIMOUS\] MOVER: William H.
