Resolution Authorizing Installton of Street Lighting At New Intersection
At a Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New
York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on February 10, 2020.
The meeting was called to order by Richard Thurston, Town Supervisor, and upon roll being
called, the following was recorded:

The following Resolution was introduced by Councilman Beale and seconded by Casella.
WHEREAS, the relocation of Sergeant Palmateer Way created a new intersection at Old
Hopewell Road; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to install street lighting at the new intersection and the newly
installed curve in the highway to safely light the highway; and
WHEREAS, the locations of the proposed street lights are outside the boundaries of any lighting
district established in the Town of Wappinger; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the authority granted by Town Law §64(19), the Town Board may
contract for street lighting on highways in the Town; and
WHEREAS, Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation (“CHGE”) provides street lighting
within its service area pursuant to a Tariff Approved by the New York State Public Service
Commission; and
WHEREAS, CHGE has provided the attached Street Lighting Authority Order which sets forth
the rental costs for the street lights and poles; and
WHEREAS, the Town Comptroller has advised that a budget modification is required to pay for
the rental fees for the new poles;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows:
The Town Board hereby accepts the terms of Street Lighting Authority Order No. H7-02969 which
provides for a monthly rental fee of $53.62 plus the cost of electricity and authorizes the Supervisor to
sign the Street Lighting Order on behalf of the Town; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Town Board hereby authorizes the following budget line
transfers for the rental of the Street Lighting & electric service:
