2020-66 2020-66 Appointment of Maintenance Laborer Positions At a Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on February 24, 2020. Beale Mover     Defeated  Angela Bettina Seconder     Tabled  Christopher Phillips Voter      Withdrawn Al Casella Voter     The following Resolution was introduced by Councilman Beale and seconded by Councilwoman Bettina. WHEREAS, in its 2020 Budget, the Town Board funded Full-Time Maintenance Laborer positions in the Buildings and Grounds Department to assist with the repairs and maintenance of Town Buildings and Grounds; and WHEREAS, the Rules of the Dutchess County Department of Human Resources authorize the appointment of certain employees by the Town as a temporary appointment for a limited duration; and WHEREAS, the Supervisor of Buildings recommends the appointment of one Maintenance Laborer. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows: 1. The Town Board hereby appoints Richard Meddaugh as Maintenance Laborer who shall be compensated at $18 per hour out of budget line A.7110.0113. 2. The above appointments are subject to the approval of the Dutchess County Department of Human Resources and is further subject to Civil Service Law and the Rules of New York State and the Dutchess County Department of Human Resources. 3. The above appointments are subject to a probationary term of not less than eight nor more than twenty-six weeks in accordance with the rules of the Dutchess County Department of Human Resources. 4. The Town Board hereby temporarily appoints Frank Lazante as Maintenance Laborer who shall be compensated at $18 per hour out of budget line A.7110.0110 to fill in for a laborer who is currently unavailable to work, possibly a temporary employee. 5. All necessary documentation for the appointment shall be filed with the Dutchess County Department of Human Resources.
