Resolution Awarding Contract For Relocation Of Gas Line At Highway Garage
At a Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County,
New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on April 27,
2020.
The meeting was called to order by Richard Thurston, Town Supervisor, and upon roll
being called, the following was recorded:

The following Resolution was introduced by Casella and seconded by Councilman
Phillips.
WHEREAS, the Town Board authorized the Engineers to the Town to prepare a Request for
Proposals for the relocation of the gas line at the Town Highway Garage; and
WHEREAS, the Engineer to the Town prepared the necessary RFP and proposals for the work
were duly solicited; and
WHEREAS, on April 18, 2020, the Engineers to the Town received three proposals for the work:
United Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, Plumbing & Heating, Inc. $17,297.00
C. McGovern Plumbing Corporation $21,800.00
Southeast Plumbing Corporation $26,440.00
WHEREAS, by letter dated April 20, 2020, the Engineers to the Town advised that it had
investigated the contracting history of United Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, Plumbing & Heating,
Inc. and determined that it is a responsible bidder; and
WHEREAS, the Engineer to the Town recommends that the Town Board should award the
contract to United Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, Plumbing & Heating, Inc. in the amount of
$17,297.00 all as set forth in the aforementioned recommendation letter, a copy of which is affixed
hereto;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows:
1. The Town of Wappinger hereby awards the contract for Highway Department Garage
Natural Gas Piping Relocation to United Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, Plumbing &
Heating, Inc., 201 Ann St., Newburgh, NY 12550 in the amount of $17,297.00.
2. In accordance with the authorized bid specifications, the Town Board hereby authorizes the
Supervisor to execute the contract documents as prepared by the Engineers to the Town
including the Notice of Award and Notice to Proceed and forward a copy to United Air
Conditioning, Refrigeration, Plumbing & Heating, Inc. after the Attorney to the Town has
confirmed that United Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, Plumbing & Heating, Inc. has duly
executed the contract documents, has supplied the necessary Performance Bond, Payment
Bond and provided insurance certificates as required by the Request for Proposal.
3. Funding for this project shall be appropriated from the 2020 Budgetary Appropriation for
Highway Garage maintenance.
The foregoing was put to a vote which resulted as follows:
