Proclamation Recognizing Graduating Seniors
At a Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County,
New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on May 11,
2020.
The meeting was called to order by Richard Thurston, Town Supervisor, and upon roll
being called, the following was recorded:

The following Resolution was introduced by Casella and seconded by Councilwoman
Bettina.
WHEREAS, Families, friends, neighbors, and educators should encourage everyone to
focus on the abilities of all young people, and honor their hard work, and
WHEREAS, The most effective way to increase this awareness of the value of
education and to honor our Town’s graduating seniors is through everyone’s active
participation in community activities and the openness to learn and acknowledge each
individual’s abilities, talents and contribution and the importance of education, and
WHEREAS, the Town of Wappinger encourages all citizens to support opportunities for
the 2020 graduating classes from Roy C. Ketcham, John Jay, Beacon, Arlington, and
Orchard View Alternative high schools. Our Wappinger community is dedicated to
providing education, housing, employment and recreational activities.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, do
hereby proclaim the month of May 2020 as ‘High School Seniors Recognition Month’
within the Town of Wappinger.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, Throughout the Town of
Wappinger, we urge and encourage all citizens to take time to get to know a graduating
senior, recognize their aspirations and contributions and honor them and their journey of
education.”
The foregoing was put to a vote which resulted as follows:
