Resolution Authorizing Contract For Installation Of A Lighting System At Route 376
Roundabout
At a Reorganization Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess
County, New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on
January 11, 2021.
The meeting was called to order by Richard Thurston, Town Supervisor, and upon roll
being called, the following was recorded:

The following Resolution was introduced by Casella and seconded by Councilwoman
Bettina.
WHEREAS, the New York State Department of Transportation “NYSDOT” proposes to
reconstruct State Highway 8093, Route 376 with the construction of a roundabout at its
intersection with All Angels Hill Road and New Hackensack Road in the Town of Wappinger;
and
WHEREAS, the Town desires to have a lighting system installed on or along the
highway; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Wappinger and the NYSDOT recognize that if such lighting
system is constructed, the Town of Wappinger shall maintain, repair and energize the lighting
system at the Town’s expense; and
WHEREAS, NYSDOT has prepared an Agreement for Installation, Maintenance, Repair
and Energizing of Lighting System for State Highway Identified as 8093 which is annexed
hereto; and
WHEREAS, the Agreement provides that the cost of installing the lighting system shall
be paid by State Share but future maintenance, repair and electricity shall be paid by the Town;
and
WHEREAS, the Town Board has reviewed the Agreement and believes that it is in the
best interest of the Town to execute such Agreement;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that:
1. The Town Board hereby accepts the terms of the Agreement for Installation,
Maintenance, Repair and Energizing of Lighting System for State Highway Identified as
8093 and the Town Board hereby authorizes the Supervisor to sign said Agreement on
behalf of the Town; and
2. Payment for the cost of maintenance and energy for the lighting system shall be subject
to a Street Lighting Authority Order with the utility approved by the Town.
The foregoing was put to a vote which resulted as follows:
