Resolution Acknowledging Appointment Of Clerk Of The Court, Deputy Court Clerk And
Clerks To The Justice
At a Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County,
New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on June 14,
2021.
The meeting was called to order by Richard Thurston, Town Supervisor, and upon roll
being called, the following was recorded:

The following Resolution was introduced by Casella and seconded by Councilwoman
Bettina.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Town Law §20 and Uniform Justice Court Act §109, the Town Board
shall provide such non-judicial personnel for the Town Justice Court as is necessary; and
WHEREAS, the clerks of the Court are employed only upon the advice and consent of the town
justices pursuant to Town Law §20; and
WHEREAS, the Town Justices recommend promotions to Court Clerk and to Deputy Court and
the appointment two Clerks to the Justice to fill vacancies that were created by retirement; and
WHEREAS, the Town Board has previously made budgetary appropriations for these positions;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows:
1. The Town Board with the consent of the Town Justices promote Kristine Thomas to the
position of Court Clerk with her compensation at the salary of $58,878 annually.
2. The Town Board with the consent of the Town Justices promote Gina Renzo to the
position of Deputy Court Clerk with her compensation at the rate of $25.00 per hour.
3. The Town Board with the consent of the Town Justices promote Mindy Jesek to the
position of Clerk to the Justice (Full Time) with her compensation at the rate of $19.19
per hour.
4. The Town Board with the consent of the Town Justices promote Lavonne Cooper to the
position of Clerk to the Justice (Part Time) with her compensation at the rate of $19.19
per hour.
5. The above appointments are Exempt Civil Service Positions in accordance with the rules
of the Dutchess County Department of Human Resources.
6. The above appointments are subject to the approval of the Dutchess County Department
of Human Resources and are further subject to Civil Service Law and the Rules of New
York State and the Dutchess County Department of Human Resources.
7. All necessary documentation for the appointment shall be filed with the Dutchess County
Department of Human Resources.
8. This resolution shall take effect immediately.
