2021-100 2021-100 Resolution Authorizing Acquisition Of Environmental And Pollution Prevention Insurance Coverage At a Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on July 26, 2021. Beale Voter     Defeated  Angela Bettina Seconder     Tabled  Christopher Phillips Voter      Withdrawn Al Casella Mover     The following Resolution was introduced by Casella and seconded by Councilwoman Bettina. WHEREAS, as part of its day-to-day operations, the Town of Wappinger stores and uses various petroleum products and hazardous materials which may accidentally be spilled causing pollution and environmental damage; and WHEREAS, it is fiscally prudent for the Town of Wappinger to obtain sufficient insurance to protect the financial interests of the taxpayers should such accidental spill occur; and WHEREAS, the Town Supervisor has consulted with the Town’s Insurance Agent to ascertain the most financially effective way to insure the Town against such hazards; and WHEREAS, the Town Board determines that it is in the best interest of the Town to obtain additional insurance for such risks. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Board hereby determines that the Town shall obtain a Premises Pollution Liability Insurance Policy from Chubb Insurance in the amount on $1,000,000 dollars with a retention of $10,000; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Town Board hereby authorizes the payment of a three-year insurance premium in the amount of $32,000 from 2021 Budget Line 1910.400A; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the portion of the insurance premium that is paid for 2022, 2023 and part of 2024 shall be treated as prepaid expenses in future budget years; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Town Supervisor and Town Comptroller are authorized to execute any necessary documents on behalf of the Town of Wappinger to effectuate the terms of this Resolution.
