Resolution Appointing Recreation Assistant
At a Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New York, held
at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on March 28, 2022.
The meeting was called to order by Richard Thurston, Town Supervisor, and upon roll being called, the
following was recorded:

The following Resolution was introduced by Councilman Beale and seconded by Casella.
WHEREAS, the position of Recreation Assistant is established on the Civil Service Roster for the
Town of Wappinger; and
WHEREAS, the Recreation Assistant job tittle is in the Labor Class under the Civil Service Rules of
Dutchess County Human Resources with no minimum qualifications; and
WHEREAS, the position of Recreation Assistant is within the bargaining unit covered by the Collective
Bargaining Agreement between the Town of Wappinger and Teamsters Local 445 ("CBA"); and
WHEREAS,the incumbent Recreation Assistant is retiring creating a vacancy; and
WHEREAS,the intention to fill the vacancy has been posted in accordance with the CBA;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows:
1. The Town Board hereby appoints Donna Lenhart to the full-time civil service title Recreation
Assistant, effective March , 2022.
2. The appointment is subject to the approval of the Dutchess County Department of Human Resources
and is further subject to Civil Service Law and the Rules of New York State and the Dutchess County
Department of Human Resources.
3. The Town Human Resources Department shall file the paperwork necessary to effectuate this
appointment with the Dutchess County Department of Human Resources and any other required agency.
4. The appointment is subject to a probationary term of not less than eight nor more than twenty-six
weeks in accordance with the rules of the Dutchess County Department of Human Resources.
5. Compensation for the Recreation Assistant shall be at a rate of $23.60 per hour and paid in
accordance with the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Town of Wappinger and
Teamsters Local 445.
The foregoing was put to a vote which resulted as follows:
