2022-112 2022-112 Resolution Awarding Contracts For Addition To Highway Garage At a Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on June 13, 2022. WHEREAS, the Town Board authorized the Engineer to the Town to prepare bid specifications and contract documents for an addition to Highway Garage A; and WHEREAS, the Engineer to the Town prepared separate bid specifications for General Construction Work, Electrical Construction Work, Mechanical Work and Plumbing Work as required by the Wicks’ Law; and WHEREAS, bids were duly advertised and solicited for the work to be done and the following bids were received and opened by the Town Clerk on May 11, 2022; and CONTRACT COMPANY BASE BID ADD ALT #1 ADD ALT #2 ADD ALT #3 TOTAL General Rozell Industries $997,752 $237,000 $236,000 $92,750 $1,563,522 Electrical Mehl Electric Co $97,708 $9,930 $107,638 Electrical RLJ Electric $119,100 $9,900 $129,000 Mechanical DJ Heating & Air $106,600 $106,600 Mechanical S&O Construction $148,019 $148,019 Plumbing S&O Construction $261,625 $261,625 Total Base Bid $1,463,685 Total Project Cost (Including all $2,039,385 (Low Bidders) Add-Alternates) WHEREAS, by letter dated June 7, 2022, the Engineer to the Town has advised that the bids of Rozell Industries, Mehl Electric Co., DJ Heating & Air, and S&O Construction are conforming bids and that they are responsible bidders with a satisfactory history of working on similar projects; and WHEREAS, the Engineer to the Town recommends that the Town Board should award the contracts to Rozell Industries, Mehl Electric Co., DJ Heating & Air, and S&O Construction with all of the Bid Alternatives as set forth in the aforementioned recommendation letter, a copy of which is affixed hereto. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows: 1. The Town of Wappinger hereby awards the General Construction Contract for the Highway Garage Addition to Rozell Industries, including Alternatives 1, 2 and 3, in the amount of $1,563,522.00. 2. The Town of Wappinger hereby awards the Electrical Construction Contract for the way Garage Addition to Mehl Electric Co., including Alternative 3, in the amount of $107,638.00. 3. The Town of Wappinger hereby awards the Mechanical Construction Contract for the way Garage Addition to DJ Heating & Air. in the amount of $106,600.00. 4. The Town of Wappinger hereby awards the Plumbing Construction Contract for the way Garage Addition to S&O Construction in the amount of $261,625.00. 5. In accordance with the authorized bid specifications, the Town Board hereby authorizes the Supervisor to execute the contract documents as prepared by the Engineers to the Town including the Notice of Award and Notice to Proceed and forward a copy to Rozell Industries, Mehl Electric Co., DJ Heating & Air, and S&O Construction, after the Attorney to the Town has confirmed that the contractors have duly executed the contract documents and supplied the necessary Performance Bond, Payment Bond and provided insurance certificates as required by the bid specifications. 6. Funding for this project shall be appropriated from bond proceeds that have been approved for the project.
