(1) LOCAL LAW # 1 OF THE YEAR lft & 2000 A Local Law entitled "LOCAL LAW AMENDING SECTION 230-43 OF THE CODE OF THE TOWN OF WAPPINGER TO DESIGNATE ADDITIONAL FULL STOP INTERSECTIONS IN THE TOWN OF WAPPINGER." BE IT ENACTED by the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger as follows: Section I: Title: This Local Law shall be known and cited as Town of 2000 Wappinger Local Law # 1 of 16ffi, and entitled "LOCAL LAW AMENDING SECTION 230-43 OF THE CODE OF THE TOWN OF WAPPINGER, TO DESIGNATE ADDITIONAL FULL STOP INTERSECTIONS IN THE TOWN OF WAPPINGER." Section II: Legislative Intent: It is the determination of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger that additional street intersections be designated full stop intersections. The Town Board has received a number of requests that the intersections of Thomacres Drive with Caroline Drive East and West, Caroline Drive West with Thomacres Drive, Caroline Drive East with Thomacres Drive, Farms End Road with Ardmore Drive, Orchard Drive with Farms End Road, and Parkhill Drive with Moccasin View Road, be made full stop intersections and the Superintendent of Highways and the Engineer to the Town both concur. Accordingly, it is the express determination of the Town Board and in the interests of the public health, safety and welfare of the residents of the Town of Wappinger to establish full stop intersections at the following locations: Thomacres Drive with Caroline Drive East and West Caroline Drive West with Thomacres Drive Caroline Drive East with Thomacres Drive Farms End Road with Ardmore Drive -1- Orchard Drive with Farms End Road Parkhill Drive with Moccasin View Road and that stop signs be erected accordingly. Section II1: Stop Intersections. Section 230-43 of the Code of the Town of Wappinger entitled "Schedule IX: Stop Intersections" is hereby amended by including, in alphabetical order: Thomacres Drive with Caroline Drive East and West Caroline Drive West with Thornacres Drive Caroline Drive East with Thornacres Drive Farms End Road with Ardmore Drive Orchard Drive with Farms End Road Parkhill Drive with Moccasin View Road to said "Schedule IX: Stop Intersections" as follows: Direction of Stop Sign On Travel Thomacres Drive (at its most southerly location) South Caroline Drive West East Caroline Drive East West Farms End Road South Orchard Drive West Parkhill Drive West -2- At Intersection of Caroline Drive East and West Thornacres Drive Thomacres Drive Ardmore Road Farms End Road Moccasin View Road Section IV: Separability. The provisions of this Local Law are separable and if any provision, clause, sentence, subsection, word or part thereof is held illegal, invalid or unconstitutional, or inapplicable to any person or circumstance, such illegality, invalidity or unconstitutionality, or inapplicability shall not affect or impair any of the remaining provisions, clauses, sentences, subsections, words or parts of this Local Law or their application to other persons or circumstances. It is hereby declared to be the legislative intent that this Local Law would have been adopted if such illegal, invalid or unconstitutional provision, clause, sentence, subsection, word or part had not been included therein, and if such person or circumstance to which the Local Law or part thereof is held inapplicable, had been specifically exempt therefrom. Section V: Ratification: Except as amended by these additions to Section 230-43, the Code of the Town of Wappinger is hereby ratified and re -confirmed. Section VI: Effective Date. This Local Law shall take effect immediately upon adoption and filing with the Secretary of State as provided by the Municipal Home Rule Law. -3- '(Complete the certification in the paragraph that applies to the filing of this local law and strike out that which is not applicable.) 1.
