LOCAL LAW #3 - 1971
A Local Law providing that the Term of the office of the Superintendent
of Highways of the Town of Wappinger shall be four (4) years.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE TOWN BOARD OF THE TOWN OF WAPPINGER, DUTCHESS COUNTY,
NEW YORK, as follows:
Section 1. The term of the office of the Superintendent of Highways
of the Town of Wappinger shall be four (4) years. Such term of office shall
commence on the 1st day of January next succeeding the next regular biennial
election at which the Superintendent of Highways is to be elected..
Section 2. This Local Law is subject to a mandatory referendum.
Section 3. This Local Law shall become operative only if approved at
a special election by the affirmative vote of the majority of the qualified
electors of the Town of Wappinger voting upon the proposition and upon
filing and publication in accordance with the provisions of the Municipal
Home Rule Law.
