Section 1 Legis-J&ive Intent
In order to protect the health, welfare and safety of the public
travelling on the roads in the Town of Wappinger, the Town Board deems
it to be in the best interests of all of the residents of the Town of
Wappinger that certain traffic control devices be established at the
intersection of Valley Road in the Town of Wappinger with its intersection
with Hiview Road.
Section 2. Traffic Control
All of the vehicles travelling on Valley Road entering in the
intersection with Hiview Road shall yield the right-of-way to all
oncoming traffic. All vehicles travelling southerly on Hiview Road
shall yield to oncoming traffic at its intersection with Valley Road.
All traffic travelling on lliview Road in the northerly direction
shall come to a complete and full stop at its intersection with
Valley. Road.
Section 3. Signs
The Highway Superintendent of the Town of Wappinger be and
hereby is authorized and directed to erect the aforementioned Stop
and Yield Signs at the appropriate places and in conformance with
all regulations and all governing agencies.
Section 4. Penalties for Offenses
Any vehicle failing to observe the aforementioned traffic
control devices described above, shall be subject to prosecution
of a violation of this Local Law and shall be punished by a fine
not to exceed $100.00. A violation of this Local law shall be
deemed to be a traffic infraction and shall have all other and
additional penalties as prescribed by the Vehicle and Traffic Law
of the State of New York.
Section 5. Effective Date
This Local Law shall become effective upon the filing with
the Secretary of the State of New York.
