COLSEY TOWN COUNCIL WILLIAM H. BEALE VINCENT BETTINA MAUREEN McCARTHY JOSEPH P. PAOLONI The Town of Wappinger currently runs a very popular Swim Program at the Cross Court Tennis Club. For the last three years Jared Trumpetto has been our Water Safety Instructor. With some luck we were able to secure Jared Trumpetto again this summer with the understanding that he would need to take time off to interview for full-time positions in his chosen field now that he has graduated from college. This however, . leaves the Swim Program in an awkward position as. Jared is also our Aquatics Director. If we are unable to appoint a Co-Aquatics'Director our free Swim Program will have to close each time Jared Trumpetto has an interview. I would like to appoint a Co -Aquatics Director for our Program. In order to be an Aquatics Director an applicant must be 21 years of age and have at least 3 years of life guarding experience. The age requirement for this title proves problematic for our program. All of our life guards other than Jared Trumpetto are 20 years of age or younger. In fact, not one life guard applied for a job with the Town of Wappinger over the last two summers because our program only runs from 9:00am-12:30pm. I am requesting that one of my life guards, Jared Silverman, be examined as a possible Co -Aquatics Director. Jared is 20 years and 7 months old. He is a responsible college student at the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. Jared has been a life guard for five years. Most of his time life guarding has been spent at the Cross Court Tennis Club Pool. I think that Jared Silverman would make an outstanding Aquatics Director. In fact, I hope that he becomes WSI certified before next summer so that he will be able to fill the large shoes of Jared Trumpetto. Please consider allowing Jared Silverman the opportunity to become our Co -Aquatics Director for the Town of Wappinger. Each day that Jared Silverman takes over the pool due to Jared Trumpetto's absence, I can guarantee 50 children will thank you graciously. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
