Resolution Authorizing Purchase of Hydraulic Salt Spreaders
At a regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County,
New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on October
15, 2008.
The meeting was called to order by Christopher Colsey, Supervisor, and upon roll being
called, the following were present:

The following Resolution was introduced by Councilman Beale and seconded by
Councilwoman McCarthy.
WHEREAS, the Town Highway Superintendent has recommended the purchase of two
hydraulic salt spreaders for use by the Town of Wappinger Highway Department; and
WHEREAS, on August 11, 2008, the Town Board considered Resolution 2008-209,
which dealt with the issuance of $47,000 in bonds for the purchase of certain equipment for the
Highway Department, including hydraulic salt spreaders, which cost less than $15,000 each; and
WHEREAS, at its August 11, 2008 meeting, the Town Board discussed several options
for funding the purchase of salt spreaders from current Town Funds; and
WHEREAS, at its August 11, 2008 meeting, the Town Board tabled Resolution 2008-
209 but authorized the Town Highway Superintendent to solicit bids for an Air Saw, two Salt
Spreaders and a Jumping Jack; and
WHEREAS, the Highway Superintendent solicited bids for 2 hydraulic salt spreaders;
and
WHEREAS, bids were opened on September 30, 2008, for 2 Hydraulic Salt Spreaders
by Town Clerk, John C. Masterson; and
WHEREAS, the following bids were received:

WHEREAS, Highway Superintendent Graham Foster has reviewed the above noted bids
and has submitted a bid recommendation dated September 30, 2008, a copy of which is attached
hereto.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
The recitations above set forth are incorporated in this Resolution as if fully set
forth and adopted herein.
2. The Town Board hereby awards the contract for the purchase of 2 Hydraulic Salt
Spreaders to Hudson River Truck & Trailer, the lowest responsible bidder.
3. The Town Highway Superintendent, Graham Foster is hereby authorized to
purchase 2 Hydraulic Salt Spreaders from Hudson River Truck & Trailer and submit a voucher
for payment to the Town Board in accordance with the Town of Wappinger Procurement Policy
and Town Law.
