RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE BIDDING FOR A NEW STREET FLUSHER TANK
At a regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger,,Dutchess County,
New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on the 18`h
day of August, 2003, at 7:30 P.M.
The meeting was called to order by Joseph Ruggiero, Supervisor, and upon roll being
called, the following were present:

The following Resolution was introduced by Mr. Valdati

and seconded by
WHEREAS, by letter to the Town Board dated July 9, 2003, the Superintendent of
Highways, Graham Foster, has requested permission to go out to bid for a water tank to replace
the rusted water tank on the Highway Department's "Roscoe Flusher".
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows:
1. The recitations above set forth are incorporated in this Resolution as if fully set
forth and adopted herein.
2. Graham Foster, Superintendent of Highways, is hereby authorized to prepare bid
specifications for a water tank to replace the rusted water tank on the Town's "Roscoe Flusher".

Upon completion of the bid specifications, Graham Foster is hereby authorized and directed to
advertise same for bids as soon as possible reserving the right of the Town to reject all bids.
3. Gloria J. Morse, Town Clerk, is hereby authorized and directed to review all bids
and report the bid results to the Town Board and Graham Foster for further action.
The foregoing was put to a vote which resulted as follows:

We own a 1991 International track that has a Roscoe Flusher mounted on it The truck
and flusher are in good condition but the 2000 gallon water tank has rusted through and
must lye replaced. I received one quote of S14,500 for anew tank. Since this is beyond
our purchase limit under our procurement policy, I would I&C permission to go to bid for
a new tank A. S. A. P. This machine is a critical piece of equipment for us and is a
backup unit for fire protection.
