RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CHANGE ORDER NO. 2 OR 99-2R
CONTRACT NO. 7: CLEARWELL AND PUMP INSTALLATION
At the regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess
County, New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New
York, on the 22nd of March, 2004, at 7:30 P.M.
The meeting was called to order by Joseph Ruggiero, Supervisor, and upon roll
being called, the following were present:

The following Resolution was introduced by Mr. Paoloni

WHEREAS, the Engineers to the Town, Paggi, Martin & Del Bene have
approved Completion Change Order No. 2 for Wappinger Water Improvement Area-
1999-2R-7:Clearwell and Pump Installation as per a letter dated February 26, 2004, a
copy of which is attached hereto.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows:
1. The recitations above set forth ate incorporated in this Resolution as if
fully set forth and adopted herein.
2. The Town Board hereby approves completion change order No. 2 to
Wappinger Water Improvement Area -1999-2R, Contract No. 7: Clearwell
and Pump Installation between the Town and Weltech Construction
Corporation at no additional cost for the reasons set forth in the letter
dated February 26, 2004 from Joseph E. Stankavage of Paggi, Martin &
DelBene to the Town Board.
The foregoing was put to a vote which resulted as follows:

Change Order No.2
Dear Supervisor Ruggiero & Board Members:
Enclosed please find Change Order No.2 for the above referenced project.
This change order is to allow the Contractor to substitute a wood frame roof truss for the steel
truss originally specified. The Contractor has also proposed to construct a painted finished
ceiling through the entire building for the same price as the original steel truss.
We had originally proposed an exposed steel scissor truss for the roof to provide extra
headroom inside the new building. After the Contractor proposed to use wood trusses, we
looked again at the original designassumptions and determined that the extra headroom was not
an absolute necessity. At the time we also discussed this change with CAMO Pollution Control.
They were in agreement that the finished ceiling would be an improvement to the original plans.
Enclosed with the change order is a copy of a letter describing the proposed substitution from
the Contractor, Waltech Construction Corporation. Along with the letter, we have enclosed
price •quotes fr6m1he Truss Manufacturers. We believe that this change will simplify
construction and result in an improved finished product overall,
