RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR LAPTOP AND
BAS DOG CONTROL SOFTWARE SYSTEM
At the regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess
County, New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New
York, on the 13TH day of December, 2004, at 7:30 P.M.
The meeting was called to order by Joseph Ruggiero, Supervisor, and upon roll
being called, the following were present:

ABSENT:
The following Resolution was introduced byNir. Bettina and seconded by
Ms McCarthy
WHEREAS, the Dog Control Officer Jerry Owen has requested the purchase of a
Dell laptop computer and the BAS Dog Control Software, and
WHEREAS, the laptop shall be purchased through state contract, and the BAS is
the sole source for the Dog Control Software System, and
WHEREAS, BAS has supplied a quote of Three Thousand, Nine Hundred,
Ninety Dollars ($3,990) for the Dog Control Software, and
WHEREAS, the Dog Control Officer Jerry Owen has requested a purchase order
in the amount of Three Thousand, Nine Hundred, Ninety Dollars ($3,990.00) payable to
BAS, and a purchase order in the amount of the state contract for the Dell Computer.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows:
1. The recitations above set forth are incorporated in this resolution as if fully
set forth and adopted herein.
2. A purchase order is hereby authorized in the amount of Three Thousand,
Nine Hundred, Ninety Dollars ($3,990.00) payable to BAS and a purchase
order in the amount of the state contract for the Dell Computer from
Account HY-1680.200, in accordance with a letter dated December 1,
2004 from Jerry Owen, Dog Control Officer, to the Supervisor.
The foregoing was put to a vote which resulted as follows:

I wish to move forward on getting two pieces of equipment under the Technology Fund
that we spoke about a few weeks ago.
a) Dell Laptop Computer (I've been using my own since I began
employment - about four years).
b) BAS Dog Control Software System (system was presented to us by
Angela Vitti back in May 2004).

THE ANIMAL CONTROL SYSTEM
The Animal Control System was designed to help manage
enforcement activities related to licensed dogs and other animals.
The system allows retrieval of information by owners name,
address, license (tag) number or local incident number.
The major features of the system include:

NOTES ON SONTWARE A SERVICES:
(single user)
1. The Annual Software Maintenance fee covers any State mandated changes and other
software enhancements as well as unlimited telephone support.
2. Installation support and training are estimated costs based on a rate of
$600/day; travel expenses will be invoiced separately; additional training is
available, if needed, at our standard rates.
3. The software will run on any standard IBM-compatible PC using the Windows 2000/XP
PRO operating system; prospective purchasers should carefully review the BAS Win-
dows Software Hardware/Network Guidelines.
4. The network version will operate on any standard PC --based network, e.q. Novell,
windows NT or windows 2000/XP PRO; prices are available from SAS upon request.
The network must be installed and operating before installation of BAS soft-
ware.
5. A high speed modem and pcANYMMR8 Communications software is required. In the
event of a data or software related problem, this will allow our staff to dial -in
to your system to provide remote, diagnostic support. Access to a suitable phone
Zine is the responsibility of the purchaser.
6. Training will normally be completed within approximately 30-60 days after
receipt of a confirmed order.
7. To order the software, a 504k down payment is neaded along with a signed purchase
order or letter of commitment
