RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING DOG CONTROL OFFICER
TO ATTEND CONFERENCE
At the regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess
County, New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New
York, on the 22°a day of March, 2004, at 7:30 P.M.
The meeting was called to order by Joseph Ruggiero, Supervisor, and upon roll
being called, the following were present:

The following Resolution was introduced by Mr. Bettina and seconded
by Ms. McCarthy.
WHEREAS, the Town Board wishes to authorize Jerald Owen, Dog Control
Officer, to attend the Animal Control Officers and Shelter Personnel Academy at the
Delhi State University of New York College of Technology on May 18, 19, 20, and 21,
2004.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Jerald Owen, Dog Control
Officer is hereby authorized to attend to the Animal Control Officers and Shelter
Personnel Academy at the Delhi State University of New York College of Technology on
May 18, 19, 20, and 21, 2004, at a cost not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200) for
registration.
The foregoing was put to a vote, which resulted as follows:

SHELTER PERSONNEL
ACADEMY
Delhi, College and the Veterinary Tech-
nology Department are proud to offer the
following course as part of its commit-
ment to community service:
2004 Animal Control Officers and
Shelter Personnel Academy
In cooperation with the NYS Depart-
ments of Agriculture and Markets, La-
bor, Environmental Conservation,
Dept. of Health, the New York State
Police, Spring Farm Cares, NYSACO
and the State University of New York
at Delhi is hosting the Animal Control
Officers and Shelter Personnel Acad-
emy. Instruction will be provided by
the NYS government personnel and
SUNY Delhi faculty.
Classes will be intensive and meet
during the day and early evening
hours. The major method of presen-
tation will be lecture -demonstration.
Topics will include (but not be limited
to): state and municipal licensing; ani-
mal control and welfare laws; budget-
ing and financial considerations;
rabies; the role, duties and public
relations of the animal control officer;
procedure for seizure and capture,
restraint and behavior; and wild ani-
mal permits and conservation laws.
Maximum enrollment is 60, minimum
enrollment is 12. Additional informa-
tion will be sent after receipt of regis-
tration.
