RESOLUTION NO. 05'2002
RESOLUTION FOR AUTHORIZATION TO REQUEST THE
NEW YORK STATE LEGISLATUVE FOR HOME RULE LEGISLATION
CREATING A LIBRARY DISTRILFOR THE TOWN OF WAPPINGER
The following Resolution was introduced by Mr. Paoloni
Mr. Valdati
and seconded by
WHEREAS, the Town Board wishes to create a Library District for the purposes of
funding the Town's financial obligations to Grinnell Library; and
WHEREAS, a special act by the New York State Legislature is required to create a
Library District; and
WHEREAS, the Town Board requires and seeks the assistance of Albert P. Roberts,
Attorney to the Town, to undertake the process of contacting the appropriate members of the
State Legislature, including State Senator, Stephen Saland, and Assemblyman, Joel Miller, to
begin the preparation of a bill to submit to the New York State Legislature for Home Rule
Legislation creating the aforesaid Library District;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Supervisor Joseph Ruggiero, and
Albert P. Roberts, Attorney to the Town, are hereby authorized to take whatever steps are
necessary to establish a Library District for the Town of Wappinger and to contact the
appropriate members of the State Legislature, including State Senator, Stephen Saland, and
Assemblyman, Joel Miller, to begin preparation of a bill to submit to the New York State
Legislature for Home Rule Legislation creating the aforesaid Library District.
