Firemen Chelsea Fire Co. were d by volunteers from gut of Fishkill and nnville. i of Fishkill Supervisor t Muller, who retired mth as superintendent arm, reported that the structure measured 90 !et. He identified it as a barn" primarily for free use of beef cattle for feeding. The "loafing barn," says Supervisor Muller, whose son, Herbert, Jr., is Chelsea fire chief, permits the cattle to "come and go as they wished." Approximately 500 bales of hay and at least two pieces of farm equipment were lost in the fire, cause of which had not been determined at press time. Mr. Muller said the firemen had plenty of water, pumping an ample supply from a large pond on the property. The barn, he estimated, was about a half -mile from the pond. The fire had a "tremendous start" before it was discovered, Supervisor Muller reported. He said a woman telephoned the original alarm to the Beacon Police Headquarters but her name was not recorded. The barn was beyond saving when the fire was discovered, Mr. Muller reported. Firemen left the scene at about 4 a.m. Tuesday.
