1993-03-08 SPMSP30893 W A Special Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger was held on March 8th, 1993, at the Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York. Supervisor Smith opened the meeting at 6:30 P.M. Present: Constance Smith, Supervisor Robert Valdati, Councilman June Visconti, Councilwoman Robert Wallace, Councilman Elaine H. Snowden, Town Clerk Absent: James Mills, Councilman Others Present: Graham Foster, Highway Superintendent Albert Roberts, Attorney Joseph E. Paggi, Jr., Engineer The Supervisor send out notices to the Town Board and the News Media on February 24, 1993, calling said meeting for March 8th, 1993 at 6:30 P.M. for the purpose of awarding bids on the Russell Road Drainage and for Wappinger Sewer Transmission/ Treatment Improvement Phase 1, Contract 1, also to authorize the Highway Superintendent to go out to bid for the Town wide annual bulk clean up. The bid on Wappinger Sewer Transmission/Treatment Improvement Phase 1, Contract 1, was opened on February 24, 1993; there were nine bidders, the lowest was from Pillari Bros., Contracting, at $2,128,581.00. MR. VALDATI moved to award the bid on the Wappinger Sewer Transmission/Treatment Improvement, Phase 1, Contract 1, to Pillari Bros., Contracting, as low bidder, at the bid price of $2,128,581.00, and authorize the Supervisor to sign the contract. Seconded by Mrs. Visconti Motion Unanimously Carried SP30893 Eleven Bids were received and opened. on March 8, 1993 on the Drainage Project for Russell Road. The apparent low bidder was B & D Excavating Corp. at $ 98,860.00. MRS. VISCONTI moved to award the bid on the Drainage Project on Russell Road to B & D Excavating Corp. as low bidder, at a total price of $98,860.00, at the recommendation of the Engineer and authorize the Supervisor to sign the contract. Seconded by Mr. Wallace Motion Unanimously Carried As a point of information Mr. Paggi noted that their estimate in June of 1990 for this project was $98,500, and since that time they actually increased the scope of the project so they are actually getting more work for practically the same amount they had projected three years ago. MRS. VISCONTI moved to authorize the Highway Superintendent to go to bid for the Town Bulk Recycling Pickup. Seconded by Mr. Wallace Motion Unanimously Carried Mr. Valdati made some inquiries about the Town coordinating with the Village for the pickup, however, Mr. Foster noted that they (meaning the Village Highway Department) usually do their own thing. MR. WALLACE moved to close the Special Meeting, seconded by Mrs. Visconti and unanimously carried. The Special Meeting closed at 6:40 P.M. Elaine H. Snowden Town Clerk
