1992-10-13 SPMaw , SP101392 A Special Fleeting of the Town Board of the 'Town of Wappinger was held on October 13, 1992, at the Town Hall., 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York. Supervisor Smith opened the Meeting at 6:50 P.M. Present: Constance Smith, Supervisor James Mills, Councilman Robert Valdati, Councilman June Visconti, Councilwoman Elaine H. Snowden, Town Clerk Absent: Robert, Wallace, Councilman Others Present: Joseph E. Paggi, Jr., Engineer Graham Foster, Highway Superintendent This Meeting was scheduled by -the Supervisor for the purpose of setting Public Hearings on the Benefit Assessments for the Water and Sewer Districts. Notices were sent to the Town Board and the media on October 9, 1992, calling said meeting for October 13, 1992 at 6:50 P.M. MRS. VISCONTI moved to set Public Hearings on the Benefit Assessment Rolls for the Water and Sewer Districts and Improvement Areas on November 5th, 1992, beginning at 6:50 P.M. and continuing at one minute intervals until completed: Wappinger Sewer Improvement Area #1, Wildwood Sewer District, Mid -Point Park Sewer Improvement Area, Rockingham Farms Sewer District, Wappinger Sevier Treatment/Transmission Improvement Area #1, Wappinger Sewer Treatment/Transmission Improvement Area #2, Watch Hill Sewer District, Fleetwood Sewer District; Fleetwood Water District, Oakwood Water District, Oakwood Water Water District, Central Wappinger Water Improvement Area, Tall Trees Water Improvement Area, Wappinger Park Water District, North Wappinger Water District, Myers Corners II Water District SP101392 and Wappinger Cranberry Water Improvement Area. Seconded by Mrs. Smith Motion Unanimously Carried Before closing the Meeting, the Supervisor wished to share some historical information with us ---today the Capitol is 200 ,years old; in 1891, electric was installed and. President. Harris was afraid of the electric so he hired an engineer to turn it on .in the morning and off in the evening. In 1830 they had running water, but President Jackson had no fear of that. Mr. Mills added that Jimmy Carter was the first President to be born in a hospital. There was no other business to come before the Board. MR.. VALDATI moved to close the Special Meeting, seconded by Mrs. Visconti and unanimously carried. The Special Meeting closed at 6:55 M. Q___. Elaine H. Snowden Town Clerk A Public Hearing was held by the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger on October 13, 1992, at the Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, Dutchess County, New York, with respect to the determination and assessment of all costs and expenses against the Braker property demolition, located at 36 Old Route 9 in the Town of Wappinger. Supervisor Smith opened the Hearing at 6:55 P.M. Present: Constance Smith, Supervisor James Mills, Councilman Robert Valdati, Councilman June Visconti, Councilwoman Elaine H. Snowden, Town Clerk Absent: Robert Wallace, Councilman Others Present: Albert Roberts, Attorney Joseph E. Paggi, Jr. Engineer The Town Clerk offered for the record the Affidavits of Posting and Publication duly signed and notarized. (These Affidavits are attached hereto and made part thereof of the Minutes of this Hearing). Mr. Roberts noted that he had received a call from Mr. Marshall Brenner, Attorney representing Mrs. Braker and advised him that it was not necessary for him to attend this Hearing. He reminded the Board that Mrs. Braker had previously signed an Affidavit waiving any objection she may have to this process; in essence she was requesting the Town to proceed with the demolition and assess the costs against the property to be relevied on the 1993 State, County and Town tax. For the record, the Town has incurred the sum of $6,350 for the demolition plus Attorneys fees for criminat prosecution and coordination of the process of $4,698.50, a total of $11,048.50 to be levied against the property. Mrs. Smith asked if anyone in the audience wished to speak on the subject matter. No one requested to speak. MRS. VISCONTI moved to close the Public Hearing, seconded by Mr. Valdati and unanimously carried. The Hearing closed at 7:00 P.M. �\ Elaine H.
