Resolution Authorizing Change Order No. 1 for the Wappinger Park Water System Project
At a regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New
York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on June 28, 2010.
The meeting was called to order by Christopher Colsey, Supervisor, and upon roll being called,
the following were present:
PRESENT: Supervisor - Christopher J. Colsey
Councilmembers - William H. Beale
Vincent F. Bettina
Ismay Czarniecki
Joseph P. Paoloni (arrived at 6:52 PM/departed 8:52 PM)
ABSENT:
The following Resolution was introduced by Councilman Beale and seconded by Councilman
Bettina.
WHEREAS, the Engineers to the Town, Morris Associates Engineering Consultants, PLLC,
have approved Change Order No. 1 to the Contract for the Town of Wappinger - Wappinger Park Water
System abandonment, removal and disposal project, as per letter dated June 18, 2010, a copy of which has
been provided to the Town Board in advance of this resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows:
1. The recitations above set forth are incorporated in this Resolution as if fully set forth and
adopted herein.
2. The Town Board hereby approves Change Order No. 1 in the amount of Three Thousand,
Thirty -Five Dollars and 00/100 ($3,035.00), dated June 16, 2010, for the Town of
Wappinger - Wappinger Park Water System abandonment, removal and disposal project
Contract between the Town of Wappinger and Hydrovac Excavating Inc., resulting in a new
Contract sum in the amount of Thirty -Two Thousand, Nine Hundred Ten Dollars and
00/100 ($32,910.00), for the reasons and associated costs set forth in the letter dated June
18, 2010, from Morris Associated Engineering Consultants, PLLC.
The foregoing was put to a vote which resulted as follows:

Enclosed please find a copy of the AIA Document G701 entitled Change Order and a copy of the
estimate of work from Hydrovac Excavating. The purpose of this change order is a result of a pre-
construction'meeting held on June 14, 2010. Attending this meeting were Robert Giaimo and Ira Conklin
of Hydrovac Excavating, Michael Tremper of CAMO and Michael Takacs of my office. Mr. Tremper was
concerned that one of the existing water valves would not hold which could prevent the proper testing and
disinfection of the new water line that is to be installed as part of this project. Mr. Tremper therefore
suggested that a new valve be installed, this was agreed upon and Mr. Takacs inform the contractor to
prepare the cost estimate for this work.
The cost from the contractor, Hydrovac Excavating, Inc., for this change is $3,035.00. This would
raise the project cost from $29,875.00 to $32,910.00.
Please place this on the agenda for the June 28, 2010 Town Board Meeting for approval of
Change Order #1.
