Resolution Authorizing Seasonal Employment Within the Parks and Maintenance
Department
At a regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County,
New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on August
16, 2010.
The meeting was called to order by Christopher Colsey, Supervisor, and upon roll being
called, the following were present:
PRESENT: Supervisor - Christopher J. Colsey
Councilmembers - William H. Beale
Vincent F. Bettina (arrived at 6:26PM)
Ismay Czarniecki
Joseph P. Paoloni
ABSENT:
The following Resolution was introduced by Councilwoman Czarniecki and seconded by
Councilman Beale.
WHEREAS, the Town Board, through resolutions 2010-129 and 2010-186, approved the
hiring of the following seasonal parks and maintenance employees;

WHEREAS, there exists a seasonal vacancy effective August 12, 2010, due to the
voluntary termination of Bernie Roe from budget line A7110.106; and
WHEREAS, the Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds has recommended, in a memo
dated August 6, 2010, that candidate John Sullivan be hired to fulfill the aforementioned vacancy
to the role of seasonal laborer, with an hourly salary of $11.88 per hour as paid through Budget
Line A7110.106.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Supervisor of Buildings and
Grounds is hereby authorized to initiate the employment of John Sullivan to the role of seasonal
laborer at the hourly rate of $11.88 from Budget Line A7110.106, effective immediately.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds is to provide
written advice to the Town Board no later than September 30, 2010, in respect to the annual
termination schedule of the seasonal employees.
The foregoing was put to a vote which resulted as follows:
