Subject: Board Meeting Agenda/Bucket Truck
I have reviewed the Ione bid received for the surplus bucket truck and recommend the Town Board reject it. The scrap
value of the truck exceeds the bid received. I further recommend the truck be relisted for sale to highest bidder at the
Dutchess County sale of Surplus Equipment upcoming in November. The truck would be listed on line in a virtual auction
by a professional auctioneer in a manner similar to ebay.com. The auctioneer would take photos and list a description of
the truck, and the truck would be located to the Dutchess County Auto Center on Salt Point Turnpike to be available for
viewing. The attendant at the auto center would demonstrate the truck if requested to prospective bidders. I feel this
method would give the sale much greater exposure thus commanding a higher sale price. There is a 10% fee for this
service, again I feel this cost would be offset by the higher expected return.
We would be required to relocate the truck to Salt point which my department can accommodate, and would need to hand
over the Certificate of Title signed to offer for sale. Thank you.
