Resolution Authorizing the Recruitment of Candidates to Fill Vacancies Within the Town
of Wappinger
At a regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County,
New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on December
13, 2010.
The meeting was called to order by Christopher Colsey, Supervisor, and upon roll being
called, the following were present:
PRESENT: Supervisor - Christopher J. Colsey
Councilmembers - William H. Beale (Arrived 7:02 PM)
Vincent F. Bettina
Ismay Czarniecki
Joseph P. Paoloni
ABSENT:
The following Resolution was introduced by Councilman Bettina and seconded by
Councilman Beale.
WHEREAS, the Town Board annually holds a reorganization meeting prior to the first
scheduled Town Board meeting of the new fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, the annual reorganization meeting includes the appointment of various
vacancies; and
WHEREAS, the Town Board believes it to be in the best interests of the Town of
Wappinger to advertise appointment opportunities to the public; and
WHEREAS, the Town Board hereby authorizes the Town Supervisor and Town Clerk to
post and publish appointment opportunities for the positions as follows:
1. Town Historian
2. Planning Board Member
3. Zoning Board of Appeals Member
4. Board of Assessment Review Member
5. Recreation Committee Member
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows:
1. The recitations above set forth are incorporated in this Resolution as if fully set
forth and adopted herein.
2. The Town Board hereby authorizes the Town Supervisor and Town Clerk to post
and publish appointment opportunities as noted above.
3. The Town Board hereby directs the Town Supervisor and Town Clerk to publish
legal advertisements in the Town newspapers.
4. The Town Board hereby further directs the Town Supervisor and Town Clerk to
publish a classified advertisement in the Southern Dutchess News.
5. This resolution shall take effect immediately.
