1978-12-18 SPMA Special Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger was held on December 18, 1978, at Town Hall, Mill Street, Vitlage of Wappingers Falls, Dutchess County, New York. Notice of said meeting was mailed to each Board member on December 15, 1978, calling the meeting for 5:20 P.M. on December 18, 1978, for the purpose of adopting the Assessment Rolls for the various Sewer and Water Improvements and Districts of the Town of Wappinger, and any other business that may properly come before the Board. Notices were also given of said meeting to the Poughkeepsie Journal, the Wappinger and Southern Dutchess News and the Beacon Evening News, Radio Stations WBNR, WHPN, WEOK and WKIP. A notice was posted on the Town Clerk's Bulletin Board. Deputy Supervisor Jensen called the meeting to order at 5:20 P.M. Seconded by: Councilwoman Reilly Roll Call Vote: 3 Ayes 0 Nays Mr. Jensen noted that the Board had previously requested the Engineer to the Town to review costs of integrating new wells with the old wells and submit all particulars to the Board. At • this time he felt that the proper paper work should be sent to Water Resources Commission for permission to hook up these wells to the system. MR. JENSEN moved that Mr. Lapar be directed to make application to the Water Resource Commission to integrate the new wells in Central Wappinger Water Improvement with the old wells. Seconded by Mrs. Mills Roll Call Vote: 3 Ayes MR. JENSEN moved that Mr. Lapar be directed to continue to review and investigate all methods of improving the yields of the wells at Hilltop and report back to the Town Board. Seconded by Mrs. Mills Roll Call Vote: 3 Ayes 0 Nays MRS. MILLS moved to direct the Engineer to the Town to investigate and make a proposal for new wells at the Tall Trees Water District site or whatever would be necessary to improve the output of the present well and further direct the Engineer to investigate costs and approvals necessary to put wells in the Wappinger Creek (Quiet Acres) Area. Seconded by Mrs. Reilly Roll Call Vote: 3 Ayes 0 Nays A letter was received from James Spratt, Commissioner of Dutchess County Department of Public Works stating that our request for 30 MPH speed limit on Old Hopewell Road and Chelsea Road was unrealistic and would create difficulties in enforcement. The Board agreed that they would discuss this matter with the County Legislators familiar with said areas and have them attempt 937 to resolve the matter with the Departmeamt of Public Works, as they did not concur with Mr. Spratt in this matter. Mrs. Mills had had a complaint regarding a curve on Wildwood Drive at the intersection of Brian Place. The resident had complained of two accidents occurring on his front lawn, one of which resulted in two trees falling down. He was fearful that the next time it might be his home and asked that a warning curve sign be installed. MRS. MILLS moved that a letter be directed to Mr. Horton request- ing him to contact the owners of the home at 21 Wildwood Drive, investigate their complaint and report to the Town Board by mail before the next Town Board meetingiwith his recommendation. Mr. Jensen explained that these Benefit Assessment Rolls must be filed with the County each year in order to appear on the Tax Bilis. The formula was arrived at four or five years ago and they represent the cost that is still outstanding on the bonds for each district. The rate on this district per unit will be $178.64 for 1979.
