A Public Hearing was held by the Town Board of the Town of
Wappinger on June 28, 1978 at 7:00 P.M. at Town Hall, Mill Street
Village of Wappingers Falls, Dutchess County, New York, on an
Ordinance to Amend the Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Wappinger
(Section 424 -Signs).
Supervisor Diehl opened the Hearing at 7:12 P.M.
Present:
Louis Diehl, Supervisor
Leif Jensen, Councilman
Bernice Mills, Councilwoman
Absent:
Nicholas Johnson, Councilman
Janet Reilly, Councilwoman
The Town Clerk offered for the record the Affidavits of Posting
and Publication duly signed and notarized (attached hereto).
Notices were sent to the newspapers and radio stations and notice
was posted. on the Town Clerk's Bulletin Board.
Supervisor Diehl asked4if anyone wished to speak for or against
this Ordinance.
No one spoke.
MR. JENSEN moved to closed the Public Hearing, seconded by Mrs.
Mills and carried.
The Hearing closed at 7:15 P.M.

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND
THE HAWKING AND
PEDDLINGORDINANCEOF
THE TOWN OF WAPPINGER
Introduced by Councilwoman Reilly
Be it ordained by the Town Board of
the Town of Wappinger as follows:
The ordinance requiring license for
sale of merchandise by hawking and
peddling duly adopted by the Town
Board on August 26, 1970 is amended as
follows:
SECTION ONE:
Section Three is amended by in•
creasing each license fee established
therein to Thirty -Five (835.00) Dollars.
SECTION TWO:
Section 8 is deleted and the following is
substituted in its place.
No hawker or peddler shall maintain
his vehicle in one place for more than 30
minutes, and upon the expiration of said
time, he shall move his vehicle or
vending stand or cart to another location
at least one thousand yards from the
prior location used by him. Violation of
this section shall be an infrin9ement Of
this ordinance, and upon conviction, the
license issued to the offender shall be
subject to revocation in the manner
prescribed by Town Law No. 137.
The provision of this Section 8 shall not
apply to those persons who make sales at
the home residence of their purchasers..,
SECTION THREE:
This ordinance shall take effect upon
adoption, posting and publication.
