Resolution Awarding Bid for Alarm Security Monitoring Services
At a regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County,
New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on February
28, 2011.
The meeting was called to order by Christopher Colsey, Supervisor, and upon roll being
called, the following were present:

The following Resolution was introduced by Councilman Bettina and seconded by
Councilwoman Czarniecki.
WHEREAS, the Town of Wappinger buildings at Carnwath Farms Park have pre-
existing alarm systems and periodic monitoring; and
WHEREAS, in the interest of cost effectiveness, the Town Supervisor solicited bids
from various alarm security monitoring services; and
WHEREAS, the following written bids were received and forwarded to the Town Board
in support of this resolution:

Platts Country Village Dormitory $288/annually
Platts Country Village Barn $288/annually
Commercial Instruments Dormitory $1224.00/annually
Commerical Instruments Barn $828.00/annually
WHEREAS, the lowest bid proposal for annual alarm security monitoring services for
the Carnwath Farms Park (dormitory) is Platts Country Village in the amount of Two Hundred
Eighty -Eight Dollars ($288.00) per year; and
WHEREAS, the lowest bid proposal for annual alarm security monitoring services for
the Carnwath Farms Park (barn) is Platts Country Village in the amount of Two Hundred Eighty -
Eight Dollars ($288.00) per year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows:
1. The recitations above set forth are incorporated in this Resolution as if fully set
forth and adopted herein.
2. The Town Board of the Town of Wappinger hereby awards the bid for annual
alarm security monitoring services for the Camwath Farms Park (dormitory) to
Platts Country Village in the amount of Two Hundred Eighty -Eight Dollars
($288.00) per year.
3. The Town Board of the Town of Wappinger hereby awards the bid for annual
alarm security monitoring services for the Camwath Farms Park (barn) to Platts
Country Village in the amount of Two Hundred Eighty -Eight Dollars ($288.00)
per year.
4. The Town Board hereby authorizes the Town Supervisor to execute the contract
documents for annual alarm security monitoring services with Platts Country
Village.
The foregoing was put to a vote which resulted as follows:

• CIA has been awarded the prestigious Five Diamond Certificate which is the highest certification that
can be achieved in the alarm industry. The Five Diamond Certificate, awarded by the Central Station
Alarm Association, designates a higher level of performance in our Central Station than the industry
standard for High Security Monitoring Centers. The industry standard is having a UL Central Station
listing for both Security & Fire. Currently there are less than one hundred companies in the country
with this certification and we are the first in the Hudson Valley.
• Remember to test your system regularly - please call the Central Station at 845-897-1200 prior to
testing your system.
• Annual inspections are essential for proper maintenance of your security alarm system as well as
replacing the alarm control batteries. Manufacturers recommend that control panel batteries be
replaced every four years - please call our Service Department at 845-897-5550 to make an
appointment.
• Before changing your phone service to cable, VOIP, or an internet phone service, please be aware that
your security system may have communication issues with the central station in the event of an alarm
condition. Please advise your phone service provider that you have a security system prior to their
installation and upon completion of their install, we recommend that you test your security system
with the Central Station before their technician leaves your home/business.
• Due to the ever increasing unreliability of telephone communications and the advent of VOIP and
cable based phone lines; it is possible that communication to our central station could be hindered.
Please consider radio monitoring option as a method to increase the system survivability and reliability
and protect against the communication being compromised by phone line failure. Please call our
office for details.
• The lighting storm season is fast approaching. If you do not have surge suppression for your alarm
control panel, we strongly suggest that you contact our Service Department for details.
• Are your CIA yards signs worn or need to be replaced? Please call our Service Department and
request new ones.
• Are you planning renovations to your home or business? Please call us to let us know if you expect to
'turn off' or disable all or any part of, your security alarm system; this will eliminate false alarms.
