1975-10-16 SPMA Special Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger was held on October 16, 1975 at 9:00 P.M. at the Town Hall, Mill Street, Wappingers Falls, New York. Notice of said Special Meeting was given on motion of Supervisor Diehl at the Regular Town Board Meeting of October 14, 1975,. for the purpose of setting dates for public hearings on the Preliminary Budget for the Town of Wappinger for the year 1976; Benefit Assessments for Sewer and Water Districts and Improvements; and, action on repairs to the retaining wall behind the Town Office Building. Supervisor Diehl called the meeting to order at 9:10 P.M. Present: Louis Diehl, Supervisor Louis Clausen, Councilman Leif Jensen, Councilman Frank Versace, Councilman Elaine H. Snowden, Town Clerk Absent: Stephen Saland, Councilman Upon calling the meeting to order, Supervisor Diehl indicated the first order of business was setting the date for the Public Hearing on the Preliminary 1976 Budget. The following Resolution was offered by COUNCILMAN JENSEN who moved its adoption: RESOLVED, that this Town Board, having reviewed the tentative budget for the year 1976, as provided for in Section 106 of the Town Law proposed the salaries of the following Town Officers: Supervisor $ 14,400.00 Supt. of Highways 15,500.00 Town Justice, each 5,540.00 Councilman, each 3,750.00 Town Clerk 11,550.00 AND BR_. 1T _ FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Board shall meet at 8:00 o'clock P.M. on the 30th day of October, 1975, Town Hall, Mill Street, Wappingers Falls, New York for the purpose of holding a Public Hearing upon. such Preliminary Budget, and be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk give notice of such Public Hearing in the manner provided in Section 102 of the Town Law. Seconded by Mr. Versace Roll Call Vote: 4 Ayes 0 Nays The following Resolution was offered by COUNCILMAN JENSEN who moved its adoption: RESOLVED, that all delinquent water and sewer bills in arrears as of December 1, 1975 in Oakwood Water District Central Wappinger Water Improvement Area Fleetwood Water District Tall Trees Water Improvement Area Wappinger Sewer Improvement #1 Wildwood Sewer District Rockingham Sewer District Mid -Point Park Sewer District Fleetwood Sewer District in the Town of Wappinger be forwarded to the County to be placed on the Tax Rolls of 1976. A list of all delinquent charges will be forwarded to the County on December 1, 1975. Seconded by Mr. Versace Roll Call Vote: 4 Ayes 0 Nays The following recommendation was received: October 16, 1975 Town Board Town of Wappinger Town Hall - Mill Street Wappingers Falls, N.Y. Re: Town Hall Retaining Wall Gentlemen: /t is proposed to remove approximately 60' of block wall and all trees within four (4) feet of said wall, and to replace the wall with two (2) rows of 8" block with reinforcement for the first two (2) courses; then 8" block with pilasters every ten (10) feet to the height of the existing ground. It is assumed that the existing footing is in good condition and will be used. Earth will be removed to a point four (4) feet east of the wall and replaced with crushed stone. Four inch (4") drains through the wall will be supplied as weep holes. As a final completion, a berm the full length Of the wall and four (4) feet east of the final wall will be placed to prevent vehicular damage to the wall. It is proposed, and it is our recommendation, that the above work be awarded to Lafko Associates Inc. for a lump sum bid price of $1,350.00. Very truly yours, s/ Rudolph E. Lapar, P.E. MR. CLAUSEN moved to accept the recommendation of Mr. Lapar with respect to the retaining wall behind the Town Office Building, and award the work to Lafko Associates, Inc. for a total of $1,350. Seconded by Mr. Jensen. Roll Call Vote: 4 Ayes 0 Nays The Town Clerk so informed the Town Board that the Benefit Assess- ment Rolls for Central Wappinger Water Improvement #1, Wappinger Sewer Improvement, Fleetwood Water and SewerDistricts and Oakwood Knolls Water District had been filed in,her office. The following Resolution was offered by COUNCILMAN JENSEN who moved its adoption: RESOLVED, that this Board shall meet at 8:00 o'clock P.M. on the 18th day of November 1975, in the Wappinger Junior High School Remsen Avenue, Wappingers Falls, New York, for the purpose of holding a Public Hearing on the Benefit Assessments for Central Wappinger Water Improvement, and be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Board shall meet at 9:00 o'clock P.M. on the 18th day of November 1975, in the Wappingers Junior High School, Remsen Avenue, Wappingers Falls, New York for the purpose of holding a Public Hearing on the Benefit Assessments for Wappinger Sewer Improvement #1, and all interested persons may be heard either for or against any or all Assessment Rolls. Seconded by: Mr. Versace Roll Call Vote: 4 Ayes 0 Nays The following Resolution was offered by COUNCILMAN JENSEN who moved its adoption: RESOLVED, that this Board shall meet at 7:30 o'clock P.M. on the 20th day of November 1975, in the Wappinger Junior High School Remsen Avenue, Wappingers Falls, New York for the purpose of holding a Public Hearing on the Benefit Assessments for the Oakwood Knolls Water District, and be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Board shall meet at 8:00 o'clock P.M. on the 20th day of November 1975 in the Wappinger Junior High School, Remsen Avenue, Wappingers Falls, New York for the purpose of holding a Public Hearing on the Benefit Assessments for Fleetwood Water District, and be it FURTHER RESOLVED that this Board shall meet at 8:30 o'clock P.M. on the 20th day of November 1975 in the Wappinger Junior High School, Remsen Avenue, Wappingers Falls, New York, for the purpose of holding a Public Hearing on the Benefit Assessments for the Fleetwood Sewer District and that at all such hearings any person may be heard in favor of or against any or all Assessments Rolls.
