1973-10-24 SPM253 A Special Meeting was held by the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger on October 24, 1973, at the Town Hall, Mill Street, Wappingers Falls, New York. The meeting was called by Supervisor Diehl on October 22, 1973, for the purpose of setting a date for the Public Hearing on the Town Budget for the fiscal year 1974. Supervisor Diehl called the meeting to order at 5:32 P.M. Present: Louis Diehl, Supervisor Louis Clausen, Councilman Harry Holt, Councilman Leif Jensen, Coundilman Stephen Saland, Councilman Elaine H. Snowden, Town Clerk Others Present: Allan Rappleyea, Attorney to the Town Rudolph Lapar, Engineer to the Town The following Resolution was offered by COUNCILMAN HOLT who moved its adoption: RESOLVED, that this Town Board does hereby accept the Tenta- tive Budget as prepared by Supervisor Diehl, Budget Officer, as the preliminary budget of the Town of Wappinger for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 1974, the itemized statement of estimated revenues and expenditures hereto attached and .madea.part. of' this resolution, with the exceptions of Account #A1010.1, which was increased by $1,000, to a total of $13,000; Account #A1220.1 which was decreased by $2,250, to a total of $28,400; and, Account #A5010.1 which was decreased by $300, for a total of $21,200; and be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that such preliminary budget shall be filed in the office of the Town Clerk where it shall be available for inspection by any interested person at all reasonable hours, and be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Board shall meet at 8:00 o'clock P.M. on the 7th day of November, 1973, for the purpose of holding a public hearing upon such preliminary budget, and be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk give notice of such public hearing in the manner provided in Section 108 of the Town Law, and that such notice be published and posted in substantially the following form: 25 NOTICE OF HEARING UPON PRELIMINARY BUDGET Notice is hereby given that the preliminary budget of the Town of Wappinger for the fiscal year beginning January 1st, 1974, has been completed and filed in the office of the Town Clerk, at Mill Street, Wappingers Falls, New York, where it is available for inspection by any interested person at all reasonable hours. Further notice is hereby given that the Town Board of the Town'of,Wappinger will meet and review said preliminary budget and hold a public hearing thereon, at the Town Hall at 8:00 o'clock P.M. on the 7th day of November, 1973, and that at such hearing any person may be heard in favor of or against the preliminary budget as compiled or for or against any item or items therein contained. Pursuant to Section 108 of the Town Law, the proposed salaries of the following town officers are hereby specified as follows: Supervisor $12,500 Town Clerk 10,000 Superintendent of Highways 13,700 Town Justice 4,800 Town Justice 4,800 Councilman 3,250 Councilman 3,250 Councilman 3,250.
