1973-04-17 SPM102 A Special Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger was held on April 17, 1973, at the Town Hall, Mill Street, Wappingers Falls, New York. Notice of said meeting was mailed to :each Board member on April 12, 1973, calling the meeting for 5:00 P.M. April 17, 1973, for the purpose of considering bids for Fencing and erection of back- - stops for several Town of Wappinger Recreation Fields. Supertisor Diehl called the meeting to order at 5:10 P.M. Present: Louis Diehl, Supervisor Harry Holt, Councilman Leif Jensen, Councilman Elaine H. Snowden, Town Clerk Absent: Louis Clausen, Councilman Stephen Saland, Councilman Others Present: Hugh J. Maurer, Chairman Recreation Commission George Schlathaus, Member Recreation Commission Bids had been advertized for, received, and opened on April 12, 1973, for Fencing and erection of backstops for the Recreation Commission at various fields. Two bids were received; A-1 Fence Company, Inc. ® a total of $4,720.00; and, AAA American Fence L.T.D. @ $4,475.00. MR. DIEHL moved that the bid from A-1 Fence Company Inc. ® $4,720.00 be accepted, upon the recommendation of the Recreation Commission, due to the fact that the non -collusion statement, pursuant to Sec- tion 103-d of the General Municipal Law, was not signed on the AAA American L.T.D. bid. Seconded by Mr. Jensen. Roll Call Vote: 3 Ayes 0 Nays MR. DIEHL moved to transfer from the Federal Revenue Sharing Account to the Recreation Account the sum of $25,000 for tennis courts that had been requested by the Recreation Commission at 103 Budget:time. .Motion Failed for Lack of a Second. Mr. Jensen believed the matter should be placed before the full Board. Duscussion ensued on the subject. The Recreation Commis- sion had had no response from the Town Board regarding the funding of the requested courts since their initial budget submission, and were anxious to know if the Town Board would entertain, one way or another, the financing of this proposed project.
