Resolution Authorizing Amendments to the 2011 Town of Wappinger Budget in Respect to the
Justice Court
At a regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New
York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on April 11, 2011.
The meeting was called to order by Christopher Colsey, Supervisor, and upon roll being called,
the following were present:

Vincent F. Bettina (Arrived at 6:25 PM)

ABSENT:
The following Resolution was introduced by Councilman Beale and seconded by Councilman
Bettina.
WHEREAS, the Town Justices jointly issued a memo dated April 5, 2011, requesting a budget
transfer, a copy of which was provided to the Town Board in support of this resolution; and
WHEREAS, the proposed budget amendments do not affect the adopted tax levy for Fiscal Year
2011; and
WHEREAS, the proposed budget amendments are as follows:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Board hereby authorizes the Town
Supervisor and Town Accountant to amend the Town of Wappinger Budget for the 2011 Fiscal Year in
accordance with the aforementioned proposed budget amendments.
The foregoing was put to a vote which resulted as follows:

Re: Budget Amendment (part-time personnel)
Dear Supervisor Colsey and Members of the Town Board:

Within the 2011 Town Budget for 2011 was a provision to hire a temporary part-
time employee through line item A 1110.110. After further consideration, it is apparent
that the transition time to adequately train a new employee would be counter-productive
to the purpose of the temporary appointment.
At this time, it is requested that the allocation in line item A1110.110(Clerk Part -
Time), in the amount of $3,500.00 be transferred to Al 110.199 (Comp Time), which
would allow the department to allocate these resources as necessary to current personnel.
The main purpose of this position was to aid in the backlog of local law matters and to
permit the court personnel to continue to process Vehicle and Traffic violations, which
otherwise would have to be delayed due to the Court's requirements to process criminal
and other matters. We propose to use the comp time toward the increased hours of part-
time clerk Jennifer Propfe, for a period not to exceed ninety (90) days in accordance with
Civil Service, and Clerk to the Justice (exempt) Gina Renzo as needed and within the
budgeted amount.
