Resolution Authorizing the Solicitation of a Replacement Seasonal Employee for the
Department of Buildings and Grounds
At a regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County,
New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on July 25,
2011.
The meeting was called to order by Christopher Colsey, Supervisor, and upon roll being
called, the following were present:
PRESENT: Supervisor - Christopher J. Colsey
Councilmembers - William H. Beale (Arrived 6:32PM)
Vincent F. Bettina
Joseph P. Paoloni
ABSENT: Ismay Czarniecki
The following Resolution was introduced by Supervisor Colsey and seconded by
Councilman Paoloni.
WHEREAS, the Supervisor of Buildings & Grounds received the resignation of Robert
Weber on June 23, 2011; and
WHEREAS, the Town Board hereby accepts such resignation and directs the Town
Clerk to place such on file; and
WHEREAS, the Supervisor of Buildings & Grounds issued a memo dated July 6, 2011,
entitled "Position Vacancy," as provided to the Town Board in support of this resolution, and
therein has requested approval to recruit candidates for a replacement seasonal Buildings &
Grounds employee; and
WHEREAS, the Town Board hereby authorizes the recruitment of a replacement
seasonal Buildings and Grounds employee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows:
1. The recitations above set forth are incorporated in this Resolution as if fully set
forth and adopted herein.
2. The Town Board hereby authorizes the recruitment of a replacement seasonal
Buildings and Grounds employee.

Buildings and Grounds employee Robert Weber resigned from his position as laborer effective 6/23/2011. 1
would like to fill this position as soon as possible in order to maintain the level readiness we've finally
reached. I request permission to advertise the position and interview candidates.
I also would like to request that I be given the authority to solicit and interview candidates at my discretion in
the future when vacancies occur. This can reduce the time the Department is short manpower by as much as
19 days depending on where the agenda deadline falls in relation to a resignation. This would be done with
the full understanding that no candidate may be hired without the approval of the Town Board.
