2011-3112011-311 Resolution Authorizing Community Day Events for Calendar Year 2011 At a regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on September 12, 2011. The meeting was called to order by Barbara Gutzler, Supervisor, and upon roll being called, the following were present: PRESENT: Supervisor Councilmembers ABSENT: Barbara Gutzler William H. Beale Vincent F. Bettina Ismay Czarniecki Joseph P. Paoloni The following Resolution was introduced by Councilwoman Czarniecki and seconded by Councilman Bettina. WHEREAS, the Town of Wappinger has annually held Community Day, which includes amusement rides, fireworks, local vendors, a community parade and other presentations to build community awareness; and WHEREAS, the Town of Wappinger Recreation Committee oversees the scheduling of events on Community Day and has proposed holding Community Day celebrations for two (2) days, Saturday, September 17, 2011, commencing at noon and ending at 10:00 p.m., and Sunday, September 18, 2011, starting at noon and ending at 6:00 PM; and WHEREAS, the Recreation Committee has scheduled various events as hereinafter provided. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows: 1. The recitations above set forth are incorporated in this Resolution as if fully set forth and adopted herein. 2. The Town Board hereby authorizes the Community Day celebrations to be held at Schlathaus Park for a two (2) day period, starting Saturday, September 17, 2011, commencing at noon and ending at 10:00 pm, and on Sunday, September 18, 2011, starting at noon and ending at 6:00 p.m. 3. The Town Board hereby authorizes a fireworks display to occur on Saturday, September 17, 2011, at approximately dusk. 4. The Town Board hereby authorizes the Town Parade to occur on Sunday, September 18, 2011, at 2:00 p.m., along Myers Corners Road, starting at the property of Mycor Holdings and ending at Schlathaus Park. 5. The Town Board Hereby authorizes the payroll expense of approximately 60 hours for three maintenance personnel and approximately 30 hours for two recreation department personnel. 6. The Town Board hereby authorizes utilization of the D.0 Sheriff's Department for security and traffic control for Community Day. 7. The Town Board hereby confirms its delegation of authority to supervise and manage the Community Day activities to the Town of Wappinger Recreation Committee and the Town of Wappinger Recreation Director.
