Present: Louis Diehl, Supervisor Louis Clausen, Councilman Harry Holt, Councilman Leif Jensen, Councilman Stephen.Saland; Councilman Elaine. H. 'Snowden, Town Clerk Others Present: Allan E. Rappleyea, Attorney to the Town William Horton, Superintendent of Highways Supervisor Diehl opened the meeting at 6:15 P.M. Supervisor Diehl called for a moment of silent prayer in memory of Howard Walker, a former Town Assessor., and father of Arthur Walker, member of the Town Planning Board. A moment of silent prayer was observed. Mr. Diehl, Supervisor, made known his appointment of Louis Clausen as Deputy Supervisor, William. Egan as.'Confidential Secretary and John Doyle as Bookkeeper. Mrs. Snowden, Town Clerk, made known that (Mrs.) Gladys Ruit and (Mrs.) Ethel Reiyea would remain. as,her two deputies. Mr. Horton, Highway Superintendent, made known that Kenneth Croshier would remain as his deputy Highway Superintendent. RESOLVED, that the annual salary for the following classi- fied civil service position in the Town be and the same hereby is fixed and established at the following annual rate: Clerk to the Assessors $6,600 AND IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED, that the salary of the person holding such position shall be paid every other Friday throughout the year 1972, with the first payday to be on Friday, January 7, 1972. RESOLVED, that Eleanor Croshier be and she hereby is appointed to serve as Secretary to the Town Justices of the Town of Wappinger Dutchess County, New York, at the pleasure of the Town Board, and it is further RESOLVED, that the annual salary for the Secretary to the Town Justices of the Town of Wappinger be and the same hereby is fixed and established at the rate of $6,300 per year, to be paid every other Friday throughout the year 1972, with 26 pay periods during each year, with the first pay day to be January 7, 1972, and it is further RESOLVED, that the said Secretary to the Town Justices of the Town of Wappinger shall be required to furnish an official undertaking, conditioned for the faithful performance of her duties in the amount of $1,000. Seconded by: Mr. Jensen Roll Call Vote: Supervisor Diehl Councilman Clausen Councilman Holt Councilman Jensen Councilman Saland Carried: January 3, 1972 TOWN BOARD, TOWN OF WAPPINGER DUTCHESS COUNTY, NEW YORK APPOINTING THE RECEIVER OF TAXES AND ASSESSMENTS IN THE TOWN OF WAPPINGER The following resolution was offered by COUNCILMAN JENSEN who moved its adoption: - RESOLVED, that Amelia Crosby be and she hereby is appointed to the office of receiver of taxes and assessments in the Town of Wappinger to serve in such capacity for a term ending on the 31st day of December 1973, and it is further RESOLVED, that the receiver of taxes and assessments be paid an annual salary of $6,500 payable every other Friday throughout the year 1972, with 26 pay periods during such year, with the first pay day to be January 7, 1972, and it is further RESOLVED, that the receiver of taxes and assessments be and she hereby is authorized to employ sich clerical employees as may be necessary for the performance of her duties and to compensate such clerical employees at the maximum hourly rate of $2.50 per hour. Snowden be and she hereby is appointed to serve as Registrar of Vital Statistics to the Town of Wap pinger, Dutchess County, New York, for a term of four years commencing January 1, 1972 and ending December 31, 1975, pursuant to Section 4123, Public Health Law, and it is further RESOLVED, that said Registrar of Vital Statistics to the Town of Wappinger shall receive no salary or compensation, however, she shall be entitled to receive for the performance of the duties of this respective office the fees fixed by applicable statute. NEWSPAPER OF THE TOWN OF' WAPPINGER' The following resolution was offered -by -COUNCILMAN CLAUSEN who moved its adoption: RESOLVED, that the W&SD News, a newspaper regularly published in the Town of Wappinger Dutchess County, New York, and having a general circulation in this Town,•and being a newspaper entered as second class mail matter, be and the same hereby is designated as the official paper of this Town, and it is further RESOLVED, that the Poughkeepsie Journal and the Evening News, newspapers published in the County of Dutchess and having general circulation therein, be and they hereby are designated as addition- al newspapers for the publication of Town notices, subject to the limitations of Section 64, Subdivision II of the Town Law of the State of New York, and it is further RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk be and she hereby is authorized and directed to give notice of such designation to- the publishers of such newspapers. The following resolution was offered by COUNCILMAN JENSEN who moved its adoption: RESOLVED, that the Marine Midland National Bank of South- eastern New York, the Dutchess Bank and Trust Company, and Empire National Bank, each being a banking institution maintaining banking room and offices in Dutchess County, New York, be and they each hereby are severally designated as depositaries of the monies of this town, and it is further RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk be and she hereby is directed to give notice of such designation to each of said banking insti- tutions.
